The Sound of Music-Fall Workshop Performances
One of the world's most beloved musicals and the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspiration finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion picture remains the most popular movie musical of all time. With many musical highlights including 'My Favorite Things', 'Do-Re-Me', 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain', 'Edelweiss', 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen'.

What is MYART?
Musical Youth Artists Repertory Theatre (MYART) is a community-based, non-profit, educational organization that provides young people the opportunity to be active participants in the performing arts. MYART supplements education in the performing arts. Though historically underfunded, we believe this to be a vitally important part of any child's curriculum. Each year MYART presents three main-stage productions with casts of 160 to over 300 participants. Multiple leads and large ensemble casts allow all participants to shine.
A Message from our Artistic Director
Many of our performers have had no previous theatre training and may have thought themselves too shy to recite in class or lead a group. MYART uses creative dramatics and training in voice, dance and acting to help students discover their own power as individuals.
